Deeply Human

Meaghan believes greatly in the need for individuals to be provided a safe, supportive and empathetic space in which to experience and explore what makes each of us ‘deeply human’. Her work helps client’s build awareness, understanding and compassion towards themselves and their thoughts and actions. As well as developing a gentle understanding of how previous life experiences may currently be impacting their lives. She works with clients to identify goals based on their values, to challenge maladaptive behaviors and to develop healthy coping strategies, as well as improving their resilience, self-awareness, mindfulness and self-compassion. With more than 20 years experience teaching Yoga and Meditation, Meaghan brings her knowledge from these fields into her counselling sessions using various mindfulness, breath-work and meditation practices.

I have now decided that my death should be very precious. I really want to use it. I’d like my death to be as interesting as my life has been, and will be.

What is an End of Life Doula?

End of life doulas are intimately acquainted with death. A doula might support an individual and their family during a variety of points in the end of life journey depending on their area of specialty. Be it from initial diagnosis, end of life planning, practical care for the dying, funeral planning, preparing the body for burial and bereavement support. Wherever their care might be provided an End of life doula primarily acts as a companion, advocate and educator for the dying and their families. As an End of life doula Meaghan aims to enrich the dying experience for patients, family members and friends by offering support with;

Making the necessary plans so that you prepare as best you can be for death
Preparing emotional wills and planning your funeral
Understanding the dying process, knowing what is ‘normal’ and can be expected
Creating space for often ‘taboo;’ conversations around life, death & grief
Counselling and Companionship for individuals and their families around the time of death
